Compare two Word documents — text, formatting, and tracked changes
OfficeMaster Word Compare is a free online tool that finds every difference between two Microsoft Word documents and outputs a tracked-changes file you can open in Word's Review pane — plus an optional audit-grade PDF report with both files' SHA-256 hashes and a per-dimension change summary. Built for legal redlines, finance contract reviews, policy / SOP version control, and academic manuscript revisions.
What's preserved in your diff
Text changes — colour-coded
Insertions appear in green, deletions in red with strikethrough, format / style changes in purple. The same colour vocabulary the entire profession uses, so reviewers don't need a key sheet.
Formatting changes — preserved & flagged
Font / paragraph / numbering changes are detected and counted in the audit summary, not silently dropped like plain-text diff tools (Diffchecker / Word native diff).
Comments — diff'd separately
Comment additions, deletions, and edits are isolated in their own dimension count so legal reviewers can focus on substantive review notes vs. commentary noise.
Tables, images, headers/footers
Structural changes that text-only diff tools miss — added rows, replaced charts, modified footers — show up in the audit PDF dimension table.
Audit-grade PDF report
Optional financial-audit-format PDF: dual SHA-256 + ISO-8601 timestamp + 12-dimension counts + colour legend. Suitable as work-paper evidence in financial / legal / compliance review.
Word, not screenshot
Output is a real .docx with tracked changes — your reviewers edit, accept, reject, comment in Word. Not a static side-by-side image.
